Finland and Estonia to be represented in WorldSSP

Kallio Racing’s Niki Tuuli and Hannes Soomer will take part in the next three WorldSSP Championship races this year, beginning this weekend with the Pirelli German Round at the Lausitzring. Tuuli proved to be a contender for the WorldSSP Top 10 in his wild card debut in Donnington last year, while Soomer also has WorldSSP experience as a wild card contender also. Both riders proved they could be competitive and now have the opportunity to showcase their skills at Magny-Cours and Jerez to see out the season.

According to team manager Vesa Kallio, the main goal in all three races is to challenge the permanent riders for podium positions and he believes that Tuuli and Soomer both have the pace to succeed.

“We have a good level at the moment” said Kallio.  “The summer tests have shown that Niki and Hannes are able to clock very competitive lap times at Lausitzring, where we are headed first. The basics are in place and during the tests we have mainly focused on fine tuning technical details. The track profile of Lausitzring offers many hard braking points and rough accelerations and I believe this is beneficial for us.

“Our whole team has worked really hard to enable this World Championship wildcard project. We have put all our efforts into this and I really look forward to good results and gaining lots of valuable experience on the way. Many times it has seemed there are not enough hours in a day to pull everything off, but here we are, on the way.” finished Kallio.

Niki Tuuli and Hannes Soomer will take part in their first wild cards of the 2016 Supersport FIM World Championship season this weekend in Lausitzring for the Pirelli German Round. The races can be followed live with the videopass on worldSBK.com.
